A letter allegedly written by Mirajul Islam, former Upazila Chairman and General Secretary of the Upazila Awami League in Bhandaria, Pirojpur, has sparked widespread debate after circulating on social media.

According to the viral letter, greetings and congratulations were reportedly sent to the Prime Minister following electoral success. The letter also appreciated the 31-point reform plan and the slogan “Bangladesh First.”

It is reported that the letter was written on the official pad of a private contracting firm rather than a political party letterhead. Mirajul Islam serves as the managing director of that firm.

The letter also requested an extension of deadlines for ongoing development projects under LGED.

Political observers say the incident raises questions, especially since the political activities of the Awami League are currently restricted.

Attempts to contact Mirajul Islam for comment were unsuccessful. Local sources claim he has been staying abroad since last year’s political changes.

No official statement has yet been issued regarding the authenticity or context of the letter, though it has triggered widespread reactions on social media.
