On the occasion of World Environment Day, the National Citizens Party (NCP) Dhaka North has launched a week-long tree plantation and sapling distribution program in the capital. As part of the initiative, more than 400 saplings were distributed among students of several educational institutions in Mirpur.
The program was led by Ariful Islam Adeeb, convener of NCP Dhaka North and mayoral candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation.
Saplings of different species were distributed among students of Mirpur Bangla High School and College, Adarsha Girls School, and MDC School. Students welcomed the initiative as a positive step toward environmental awareness.
Earlier, the program was officially inaugurated at the party’s central office.
Ariful Islam Adeeb said engaging the younger generation in environmental protection is essential and such initiatives help build awareness about nature and civic responsibility.
He also emphasized creating a livable city by addressing pollution, illegal occupation, and environmental degradation.
