Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A. M. M. Nasir Uddin expressed confidence that political tensions following the killing of potential Dhaka-8 candidate Sharif Osman Hadi will ease as the election approaches.

Speaking after inspecting postal ballot preparations at Tejgaon Mail Processing Center on Monday, he stated that the commission is confident about the voting environment and has instructed law enforcement to remain on high alert.

He added that postal voting arrangements have been made for government employees working outside their constituencies and for prisoners, allowing registration online or directly. About 150,000 voters have registered so far. Despite some initial technical and security challenges, these issues are being resolved.
