Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP convener Aminul Haque has urged party activists to remain alert so that no one can create an unstable situation in the capital surrounding the murder of second-grade student Ramisa Akter in Pallabi. He said that the murderer must be given the maximum punishment, but it must be ensured through legal procedures.
He made these remarks while presiding over a joint meeting held at the Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP office in Pallabi area of the capital on Friday morning.
Aminul Haque said that the people of the country expect exemplary punishment in the Ramisa murder case. At the same time, he alleged that a group is trying to create chaos in various places by provoking incidents related to the case. Their goal is not justice but destabilization.
He further said that attempts are being made to spread confusion among people through propaganda, misinformation, and provocative slogans. He called upon party leaders and activists to remain alert and united.
Regarding Jamaat’s activities, he said that BNP leaders and activists have fought for the restoration of democracy through long movements and struggles. Now they must be more cautious so that no hidden activities can create confusion or harm.
He said BNP believes in freedom of expression. However, if anyone tries to engage in disorder or wrongdoing using that freedom, strict action will be taken against them.
Emphasizing internal party unity, he said that although there may be differences of opinion, everyone must work together from the party ideology. If any activist is attacked, everyone must stand beside them.
After the meeting, Aminul Haque distributed wheelchairs among disabled and physically challenged people of Pallabi and Rupnagar police stations.
