Mass Judicial Retirement: 18 Judges Sent into Retirement in One Day

PNN Report | Dhaka: The government has sent 18 judges from the Bangladesh Judicial Service into retirement upon completion of 25 years of service. On Thursday night (July 10, 2025), the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued an official notification in this regard, as per the order of the President.

According to the gazette signed by Md. Azizul Haque, Deputy Secretary of the Law and Justice Division, the retired judges will receive all retirement benefits as per government rules.

The judges sent into retirement include:

• Bikash Kumar Saha – Attached Officer, Law and Justice Division, Dhaka

• Sheikh Mofizur Rahman – Judge, Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal, Rajbari

• Md. Mahbubar Rahman Sarkar – Judge, Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1, Kishoreganj

• Sheikh Golam Mahbub – Judge, Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal, Kushtia

• Md. Mojibur Rahman – Judge, Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1, Gaibandha

• Md. Ehsanul Haque – Judge, Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal, Bhola

• Md. Jewel Rana – Judge, Special Tribunal for Public Safety Offenses, Khulna

• Md. Monir Kamal – Judge, Cyber Tribunal, Sylhet

• Shahidul Islam – Special Judge, Patuakhali

• Al Mahmud Fayzul Kabir – Special Judge, Dinajpur

• Md. Nazimuddaula – District and Sessions Judge, Tangail

• A.K.M. Mozammel Haque Chowdhury – Judge, Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal, Thakurgaon

• Fazle Elahi Bhuiyan – Judge, Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-3, Habiganj

• Abu Zafar Md. Kamruzzaman – Attached Officer, Law and Justice Division, Dhaka

• Md. Rustam Ali – Member, Administrative Tribunal, Barishal

• Md. Nurul Islam – Additional District and Sessions Judge, Dhaka

• A.K.M. Enamul Karim – Additional District and Sessions Judge, Patuakhali

• Mohammad Hossain – Joint District and Sessions Judge, Dhaka

The notification states that these judges have been retired in accordance with government regulations upon reaching the 25-year mark in service, and will enjoy all entitled post-retirement benefits.
