Abandoned pistol and bullet recovered in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj

A pistol and one round of bullet have been recovered in abandoned condition by RAB-11 in Siddhirganj area of Narayanganj.

According to RAB sources, the operation was conducted on Wednesday (April 29) around 1:30 AM during patrol in the Monowara Jute Mill area near RPO Obada Colony under Siddhirganj Police Station.

Based on confidential information, RAB members identified a suspicious package in a bushy area wrapped in scotch tape.

Later, in the presence of local witnesses, the package was opened and found to contain a 7.62 mm caliber “54 China” automatic pistol and a 12-bore shotgun cartridge.

RAB suspects the recovered weapon may have been looted earlier from a police station.

The recovered arms and ammunition have been handed over to Siddhirganj Police Station for further legal proceedings.

RAB-11 stated that this operation was part of their regular drive against illegal weapons and such operations will continue in the future.
