A protest march by former members of the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR), now Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), was intercepted by police today as they attempted to advance towards Jamuna, the official residence and office of the Chief Adviser of the interim government. The demonstration, which began at approximately 11:30 AM in front of the National Museum in Shahbag, aimed to besiege Jamuna.
The march was halted by police around 12:00 PM near the Kakrail Mosque. Following the obstruction, the protesters dispersed around the Matsya Bhaban intersection, Kakrail, and surrounding areas.
The former BDR members, who are reportedly dismissed personnel, had announced their intention to surround Jamuna. Further details regarding their specific demands or the exact nature of their dismissal were not immediately available.
