The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has revoked the suspension of 12 more leaders in Barishal City. The decision was announced on Friday night (yesterday) in a notification signed by the party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

Earlier in the week, the suspension of three BNP leaders in the city had been revoked in a similar manner.

City BNP Secretary Ziauddin Shikdar stated that organizational action had initially been taken against the concerned leaders for violating party discipline. Later, after they admitted their mistakes and applied in the party forum, the suspensions were reconsidered and lifted.

Leaders whose suspension has been revoked include former City Vice President Firoz Ahmed, former Ward President Farid Uddin Howlader, former member and councilor Syed Habibur Rahman, former Ward General Secretary Md. Humayun Kabir, BNP member Syed Humayun Kabir, various leaders of the City Women’s wing including Jahanara Begum, Selina Begum, Rashida Parveen, and Jesmin Samad, as well as Md. Siddiqur Rahman, former Chhatra Dal leader Kamrul Ahsan, and Zaber Abdullah Sadi. Earlier, the suspension of three other leaders including former Joint Convener Habibur Rahman had also been lifted.
