State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Foreign Employment Nurul Haque Nur has called for stopping confusion and misinformation about the July movement.
He alleged that some vested groups are trying to limit the credit of the movement.
Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday during the motion of thanks on the President’s speech, he said many people contributed and sacrificed for the movement, but the younger generation does not fully understand its history.
He said some people are portraying it as a short-term event, whereas it was the result of a long struggle.
Regarding the July charter, he said differences among political parties are natural. Issues without consensus should have been presented to the public, and decisions should have been made based on public mandate.
Addressing opposition alliances, he urged constructive criticism instead of unnecessary opposition and expressed hope for national development through positive suggestions.
He emphasized maintaining responsible behavior despite political differences and called for unity in national interest.
