504 arrested nationwide in joint operations over one week

Over the past week, joint operations conducted by security forces across Dhaka and other regions have resulted in the arrest of 504 individuals involved in various crimes. During these operations, illegal firearms, ammunition, grenades, indigenous weapons, and narcotics were recovered.

On Friday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a press release reporting these operations. It stated that the Bangladesh Army is performing its duties with the highest professionalism and dedication to maintain overall law and order in the country.

Between 23 and 29 January, units under different infantry divisions and independent brigades, in coordination with the police and other law enforcement agencies, conducted joint operations in Dhaka and across the country. A total of 504 suspects, including terrorists, drug traffickers, addicts, robbery gang members, juvenile gangs, and thieves, were caught red-handed.

During the operations, authorities recovered 48 illegal firearms, 75 rounds of various ammunition, 95 grenades, as well as a large quantity of indigenous weapons and narcotics. The detainees have been handed over to respective police stations for further legal action.

The press release further mentioned that the army continues regular patrolling and security activities nationwide to ensure public safety. The army also assists in addressing labor unrest in industrial areas. Such joint operations will continue to maintain law and order across the country.

ISPR urged the general public to report any suspicious or abnormal activities to the nearest army camp or law enforcement agency.
