Nearly 6 crore taka assets revealed in Helen Jerin Khan’s affidavit

The affidavit submitted by Helen Jerin Khan, nominated BNP candidate for reserved women’s seat in the 13th National Parliament, has revealed assets worth nearly 6 crore taka. The detailed statement of movable and immovable assets was submitted to the Election Commission.

According to the affidavit, her total assets for the fiscal year 2025–26 amount to 6 crore 14 lakh 43 thousand 495 taka. Of this, more than 1 crore 46 lakh taka is in cash.

She has around 68 lakh taka in bank accounts and more than 26 lakh taka invested in the stock market.

Her profession is listed as social service and politics. She has fixed deposits (FDR) worth over 2 crore taka and DPS savings of about 95 lakh taka. She also owns a vehicle worth 14 lakh 10 thousand taka.

Among movable assets, she declared 50 bhori gold ornaments, though no valuation or source was mentioned. Electronics and furniture are valued at around 2 lakh 22 thousand and 2 lakh 35 thousand taka respectively.

In immovable assets, she declared six plots of land totaling 30 katha valued at about 74 lakh taka. She also owns one flat in Dhaka and two flats in Cumilla. The Dhaka flat in Japan Garden City is valued at 46 lakh 50 thousand taka, while the two Cumilla flats are worth about 29 lakh 62 thousand taka combined.

Regarding liabilities, she has foreign currency loans of over 1 crore 73 lakh taka. She also reportedly took a loan of 65 lakh taka from her husband.

The affidavit also states that 11 cases were filed against her after 2017, but she was later acquitted or discharged from all of them.

It is noted that Helen Jerin Khan previously served in a reserved women’s seat in the 8th National Parliament and has again been nominated for a similar seat.
