According to BGB sources, the operation was conducted after suspicious movement was spotted in the border area under the jurisdiction of Mohananda Battalion. Those detained were crossing the border without passports or proper travel documents.
Among the detainees were 8 men, 12 women, 5 children, and 2 individuals of the third gender. During preliminary questioning, they admitted to having previously crossed the border illegally into India and were attempting to return without proper documentation.
Lieutenant Colonel Golam Kibria, commander of the 59 Mohananda BGB, stated that the operation was part of intensified border surveillance. The identities and citizenship of the detainees are being verified through legal procedures. Once the verification is completed, they will be handed over to the respective police stations. Such operations to prevent illegal border crossings will continue.
