Awami League leader arrested in early morning police operation in Sunamganj

The arrested individual is Aftab Noor, a resident of Ghagra village and son of the late Shamsur Rahman. Police stated that he previously served as the general secretary of a ward in Badaghat Union for the Awami League.

According to police sources, Aftab Noor is accused of involvement in subversive activities and has a case filed against him. After being presented in Sunamganj Court at noon on Monday, the court ordered his remand to the district jail. The case was initially filed on the night of 16 December last year.

Rokibul Hasan Rasel, Additional Superintendent of Police of Sunamganj, confirmed the arrest, stating that it was part of regular operations to maintain law and order. He added that legal action would continue against those involved.
