In Daulatpur, Kushtia, the police have arrested Lalon, also known as Shooter Lalon, one of the key suspects in the widely discussed murder case of UP Chairman Naimuddin Sentu.
On Wednesday (October 9) late at night, the Daulatpur police conducted a raid in the Bairagirchar area of Philipnagar Union based on a secret tip-off and apprehended him.
Officer-in-Charge of Daulatpur Police Station, Solaiman Sheikh, confirmed the matter, saying, “Lalon, a fugitive suspect in the UP Chairman Sentu murder case, has been arrested from Bairagirchar area. He faces multiple cases including murder, possession of arms, and extortion. Legal action is underway.”
The arrested Lalon is the son of Ranju Malitha of East Philipnagar village in Daulatpur Upazila. He was known locally as an active member of the Tuku and Gitu Sohag gang. According to local sources, he had long been involved in terrorism, extortion, arms, and drug trafficking in the char areas.
It is worth noting that on the morning of September 30, 2024, the Daulatpur UP Chairman Naimuddin Sentu was shot and killed by criminals at his office. He died at the scene. Later, the deceased chairman’s son, Ahsan Habib Konok, filed the case as the complainant.
Police said that during initial questioning, Lalon admitted to participating in the murder. Locals have demanded exemplary punishment for this shooter Lalon.
