Meta has introduced a new app called “Pocket,” expanding its AI-driven content creation efforts into gaming. The app allows users to create small interactive games and experiences simply by writing text prompts.
These AI-generated experiences are called “gizmos.” Users can create new ones or browse others through a scrollable feed.
Reports suggest Meta acquired the Gizmo development team earlier this year, and “Pocket” appears to be an evolved version of that technology.
The app has been available on iOS and Android since June 29, although Meta has not officially announced it yet, suggesting it may still be in testing.
Tech researcher Alessandro Paluzzi first discovered the app’s presence, which was later reported by international media outlets.
Analysts say the app fits into Meta’s broader AI strategy, which includes tools for images (Meta AI), video creation (Vibes), and content editing (Edits).
The original Gizmo app reportedly received over 635,000 downloads with strong user feedback.
Experts believe Meta aims to make game creation accessible to non-programmers using natural language.
