Following the death of Sharif Osman Hadi, various political parties expressed deep sorrow and demanded that those responsible and their masterminds be identified and punished.
Sharif Osman Hadi, the spokesperson of Inquilab Mancha and independent candidate for Dhaka-8, died at 9:45 PM on Thursday in Singapore after being critically shot. His death cast a shadow of grief over the political sphere.
BJP, Jamaat-e-Islami, National Citizens Party (NCP), and Islami Andolan Bangladesh issued separate statements. BNP expressed deep sorrow over the death of Sharif Osman Hadi and called for a fair investigation and trial. Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqul Rahman remembered Hadi as a courageous and uncompromising political worker and extended condolences to his family and associates.
NCP emphasized their grief over losing a comrade and pledged to seek justice. Islami Andolan Bangladesh’s Amir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim stressed that everyone involved—from the murderer to planners—must be brought under the law.
July Alliance announced special prayers and coffin processions nationwide on Friday to protest and mourn Hadi’s death. Hadi was critically injured in a shooting in Bijoynagar, Dhaka, and later succumbed to his injuries in Singapore.
