The Iran national football team has publicly expressed dissatisfaction with the United States’ treatment ahead of the World Cup.
Head coach Amir Ghalenoei and star striker Mehdi Taremi raised concerns about visa complications, travel restrictions, and obstacles in setting up training camps.
At a press conference in Los Angeles before their match against New Zealand, they said administrative issues are affecting preparation.
The coach said the team is not being allowed to base its camp in the US and must stay in Mexico, traveling back and forth for matches.
Taremi also said the situation is mentally stressful for players and not suitable for a global tournament environment.
He added that other teams are also facing administrative issues, including visa problems for officials.
Iran’s complaints have sparked new debate ahead of the tournament. However, organizers have not yet issued an official response.
