The political platform Network for People’s Action (NPA) has demanded the rapid return of Faisal Karim Masud and his associate Alamgir Hossain to Bangladesh to face justice for the Osman bin Hadi murder case. The organization also urged authorities to identify and arrest the planners, financiers, and supporters of the crime.
According to West Bengal Police, Faisal Karim Masud and Alamgir Hossain were arrested during a raid in Bongaon near the Indian border last Saturday night. They are the main suspects in the Osman Hadi murder case, in which the candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency was shot on December 12 last year and later died on December 18 in Singapore despite treatment.
Following the case investigation, 17 suspects were charged, 12 of whom are already in custody. The remaining investigation is being conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
NPA’s statement called for:
The swift return of the arrested individuals to Bangladesh.
A full and impartial investigation of the murder.
Arrest and prosecution of all planners, financiers, and accomplices.
