Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and opposition leader Shafiqur Rahman has alleged that citizens’ voting rights were violated in the national parliamentary elections. Speaking at an Iftar hosted by the National Democratic Party (JAGPA) at a hotel in Siddheswari on Monday (March 10), he stated that the expected victory of the people was not realized.

Rahman emphasized that the party’s priority is not the number of opposition seats in parliament but upholding promises to the people. He asserted that the party would remain unwavering in protecting public rights and would not be swayed by temptations.

Referring to the 2024 popular uprising, Rahman highlighted the importance of youth-led political change for Bangladesh and stated that the youth demand justice and transparent governance. He warned that without eliminating vengeance and corruption in politics, the country could face greater crises in the future.
