Amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, a fire broke out at a gas facility in the United Arab Emirates, killing at least one person and injuring several others. Local authorities reported that the fire was triggered by debris falling after intercepting a missile through the air defense system.

On Friday, Abu Dhabi Media Office stated that two separate fires occurred at the country’s largest gas processing center, the Habshan Gas Facility, causing significant damage, and assessment of the situation is ongoing.

Authorities reported that one Egyptian citizen died while being evacuated from the site. Additionally, four people were injured, including two Pakistanis and two Egyptians.

This incident occurred at a time when missile and drone attacks in the region have increased due to the Iran-US-Israel conflict. In the last 24 hours, several ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones, were reportedly launched toward the UAE, according to international media.

Analysts note that such attacks not only threaten energy infrastructure but also worsen the overall security situation in the Gulf region, especially affecting navigation through the strategic Strait of Hormuz and potentially disrupting global energy supplies.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has urged the United Nations to take swift action to prevent such attacks. Experts fear that unless the situation improves quickly, instability in energy markets could intensify further.
