Nomination form collected in Comilla-3 for Asif Mahmud Sojib despite being candidate for Dhaka-10

The form was collected on 24 December by Romjanul Karim, a resident of Palpara, Adarsha Sadar, Comilla, and a legal assistant in the district court. He stated he has no personal relation with Asif Mahmud Sojib and only collected the form upon request and with payment from Sojib’s associates.

Sojib’s family confirmed they were unaware of the Comilla-3 form and maintained that his decision to contest from Dhaka-10 remains final. Sojib, formerly an advisor to the caretaker government, had resigned after the announcement of the 13th parliamentary elections and declared his candidacy from Dhaka-10 on 12 December.

This incident has created political curiosity in the local arena.
