Newborn Rescued in Bloody Condition from Private Clinic Bathroom in Madaripur

On Tuesday (December 2), in the Lake Southside area, a cleaner at Babu Chowdhury General Hospital discovered the newborn while performing routine cleaning. Seeing the baby lying in a corner of the bathroom in a bloody state, she quickly informed the hospital authorities. The child was then urgently rescued and taken to the hospital.

The hospital’s senior staff nurse said that the newborn’s condition was critical upon arrival. However, due to prompt treatment, the baby’s health is now improving.

Meanwhile, police have begun investigating the incident of leaving the baby at the clinic. An officer from Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station said that CCTV footage from the clinic is being collected to identify the child’s parents, and investigative efforts have been intensified. In addition, necessary legal measures are being prepared with the assistance of the Department of Social Services.

Locals expressed shock and sadness over the incident, noting that such events are rare in the area. Many are also concerned about the future safety of the newborn.

The hospital authorities stated that the baby is receiving the highest level of medical care to ensure complete recovery, and security measures have been increased for the child’s protection.
