At Bir Sreshtho Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram, Bangladesh delivered a dominant performance to win the third and final T20 match against Ireland, clinching the series. Chasing a target of 118, Bangladesh reached it in 13.4 overs with 2 wickets lost under the captaincy of Litton Das.

Although Bangladesh failed in the first two matches, opener Tanijid Hasan shone in the third, scoring his 11th T20 fifty off 35 balls. He added an unbeaten 33 runs with Parvez Hossain, who remained not out.

Tanijid also set a fielding record, taking five catches in one T20 international match, jointly setting a new record for full-member nations.

Bangladesh bowlers controlled the match from the start after losing the toss. Mustafizur Rahman and Rishad Hossain took three wickets each, while Shariful Islam claimed two. Ireland struggled throughout the innings against Bangladesh’s pace-spin attack, with Paul Stirling scoring 38 runs—the highest for Ireland. The rest failed to score significantly.

In the chase, early wickets of Saif (19) and Litton (5) did not hinder Bangladesh. The partnership between Tanijid and Parvez ensured an easy victory.

Bangladesh won the series 2–1, gaining momentum ahead of the World Cup. Captain Litton Das said:
"Today’s win not only secured the series but also boosted our confidence. This victory is very valuable ahead of the World Cup."

Despite cold weather, low attendance, and a daytime match, Bangladesh’s young players delivered a brilliant performance on the final day of the tri-series.

Brief Score:

  • Ireland: 117 (19 overs) – Stirling 38; Mustafiz 3–23, Rishad 3–21, Shariful 2–24

  • Bangladesh: 118/2 (13.4 overs) – Tanijid 52, Parvez 33*

  • Result: Bangladesh won by 8 wickets
