Md. Nahid Islam, convenor of the National Citizens' Party (NCP), explicitly stated in Rajshahi today, Monday (July 7), that there will be no elections in Bangladesh without the 'July Charter,' judicial reforms, and other necessary changes. He mentioned that his party will wait until August 5, known as Mass Uprising Day, for the 'July Charter' to be declared. Nahid Islam expressed hope that the government and all relevant parties will announce the charter within this period.

This nascent political party is demanding recognition for the 'July Martyrs and Fighters,' the formulation of a 'July Charter' to embody the aspirations of the people through the 'July Mass Uprising,' and its inclusion as a part of the constitution. The NCP expects this declaration to come within the current month. They hope the government will be able to announce the 'July Charter' based on the consensus of all political parties within this timeframe.

Commemorating the 'July Charter,' justice, reforms, and 'July memory,' the NCP initiated the 'July March for Nation Building' program on July 1. As part of this nationwide initiative, which began from Panchagarh, the northernmost district of the country, marches have been completed in 14 districts over the past six days. Today, Monday, NCP leaders are scheduled to travel to Sirajganj and Pabna via Natore.
