Mysterious Death of Woman Found in Locked Room in Manikganj, Police Investigating

A woman was found dead in her locked room in Pauli area, Manikganj town, sparking public concern. The incident occurred on Sunday night (January 11).

The deceased has been identified as Mozammath Nurjahan, 55, wife of Abul Khayer and a resident of the area.

Police and family sources reported that Nurjahan’s daughter Kajol had been trying to contact her throughout the day without success and alerted neighbors. At around 11:30 PM, Kajol returned from Dhamrai and found her mother’s room locked from outside. Upon entering, she discovered her mother’s lifeless body on the floor, showing signs of head injury and with a scarf wrapped around her neck.

Police arrived at the scene around 12:45 AM and observed the room, noting that the furniture and clothes were scattered, making the incident appear suspicious. The body was sent to Manikganj Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Manikganj Police Investigation Officer Aminul Islam said the autopsy report will be crucial in determining the cause of death, and the matter is being investigated seriously with legal action underway.
