Mysterious Death of Teenage Boy in Araihazar: Suicide or Murder? Police Investigating

Police have recovered the hanging body of a 14-year-old boy named Nadim from Araihazar upazila in Narayanganj. The body was found this Monday morning at his residence in Bajbi Tatipara area of Duptara Union.

The deceased, Nadim, was the son of local resident Majid Miah. According to the family and local sources, no other family members were home at the time. They claim Nadim hanged himself with a rope tied to the window grill.

His uncle was the first to discover him hanging and, with the help of neighbors, brought him down. Later, police from Araihazar Police Station arrived at the scene, prepared an inquest report, and sent the body to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Saifuddin, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Araihazar Police Station, stated, “Initially, it appears to be a suicide. However, we are investigating the matter thoroughly. The exact cause of death will be confirmed after receiving the autopsy report.”

The sudden death of such a young boy has caused shock and raised questions in the local community. Authorities are looking into whether Nadim took his own life or if there were other factors involved.

Police said they are examining the boy’s family background, mental state, and social environment. If necessary, they will also interrogate family members and neighbors.

Local public representatives emphasized the importance of mental health and family bonding among teenagers, stating, “This incident highlights the urgent need to raise awareness in our society.”
