Murder case filed against 450 over Sherepur clash

The clash began during an election manifesto reading event organized by the Upazila administration last Wednesday. A verbal dispute over a chair escalated into a chase and confrontation between BNP and Jamaat leaders and activists. Over 50 party workers were injured, several chairs and motorcycles were damaged or set on fire. Rezaul Karim was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he was declared dead.

Police have increased patrols to maintain law and order, and investigations are ongoing. Local community leaders have expressed concern over ensuring a peaceful election environment.
