Massive Fire Breaks Out at Building in Chattogram’s Karnaphuli EPZ, 8 Fire Service Units Battling the Blaze

A massive fire broke out at a building in the Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone (EPZ) area of Chattogram. The fire started around 2:55 PM on Friday (July 11), according to the Fire Service and Civil Defence Department.

Sources from the Fire Service’s Chattogram control room confirmed that eight firefighting units have been deployed to the scene to bring the blaze under control. The cause of the fire and whether there have been any casualties remain unknown at this time.

The incident has caused panic in the surrounding area, as firefighters continue their relentless efforts to contain the flames. Given the presence of numerous industrial factories in the Karnaphuli EPZ, local authorities have issued warnings to nearby zones to prevent further damage or risk.

Officials from the Fire Service stated that their units will remain at the scene until the fire is fully under control. A thorough investigation will be conducted afterward to determine the source of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.
