According to the court documents, the voice message was sent by Lively to Baldoni in February 2023 regarding the film It Ends With Us. In the message, Lively speaks openly and friendly with Baldoni. She explains that she was returning to work while experiencing considerable personal stress. With a newborn, family responsibilities, and multiple professional commitments, she described the situation as difficult.

In the message, Lively stated that she had to complete work on another previously committed film even though she was not physically or mentally ready. The pressure of a short break and quickly returning to shooting affected her, she added. With no nurse available to care for her child at that time, her anxiety increased. She also expressed concern about her shooting schedule, wanting a bit more time before starting It Ends With Us to physically prepare. Sleep deprivation and the experience of new motherhood caused her to question whether she could perform at her best.

The court documents further mention that she and Baldoni discussed changing a scene in the film. Baldoni later sent a voice note expressing regret about the situation and apologizing.
