After receiving positive responses from audiences in North America, screenings of the film Dom are being expanded. Directed by filmmaker Redwan Roni, the film is being released in more theatres in its second week following its successful first week.
The film’s North American distributor Bioscope Films has announced that from 17 April, Dom will be shown in a total of 58 cinemas in the United States and Canada. Among them, more than 50 theatres are in the US and 8 are in Canada.
In the first week, after releasing in cities including New York, Los Angeles, and Phoenix, the film received praise from audiences. Following this success, it has been decided to expand screenings to new cities in the second week. The film will continue screening at Kew Gardens in New York, and Showcase Farmingdale in Long Island has also been newly added.
The film stars Afran Nisho and Puja Chery. Chanchal Chowdhury and Dolly Zahur also play important roles.
According to the distributor, the period from 17 to 23 April is being considered as a special “Dom Week.” During this time, the film will be shown in various US states including Texas, Florida, Boston, San Francisco, Washington DC, Virginia, and Michigan.
Producers said that the success abroad has been possible due to audience interest and love for Bangla cinema. They expressed hope that the film will achieve further success with the support of expatriate audiences.
