Zubaida Rahman Visits Khaleda Zia at Evercare Hospital

Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, arrived from London to see BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia at Evercare Hospital, Dhaka. She arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:45 AM on Friday and entered the hospital at 11:53 AM.

Strict security measures were in place as her car reached the emergency entrance of Evercare Hospital. She used a private lift to reach Khaleda Zia’s room. Top BNP leaders, including Selima Rahman, health secretary Dr. Rafiqul Islam, and women’s wing general secretary Sultana Ahmed, were present.

BNP sources stated that preparations are ongoing to transfer Khaleda Zia to London. If her condition improves and the medical board approves, she may be flown there on Sunday. A technical fault delayed the air ambulance sent by the Emir of Qatar by a day.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “If her condition improves and the board approves, she will be taken to London on the 7th.”

Following a respiratory issue on the night of November 23, Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital, and later her condition worsened due to lung infection, requiring ICU care. The medical board confirmed that while complications with her lungs and heart have slightly improved, other health issues remain stable.

BNP organized nationwide prayers after Friday prayers, with calls for prayers at temples, churches, pagodas, and other places of worship. Leaders, party workers, and the public gathered at the hospital throughout the day.
