Nationwide security tightened over possible tension surrounding June 23

Police Headquarters has issued special security instructions across the country to prevent possible political tension and deterioration of law and order surrounding the anniversary of a banned political organization on June 23.

According to police sources, letters have been sent to all metropolitan police commissioners and range DIGs instructing them to assess security risks and take necessary preparations.

Security analysis suggests that attempts may be made to raise flags or organize rallies in some areas, potentially creating tensions with other political groups.

Intelligence surveillance has been increased, along with strengthened security at important locations and monitoring of potential gathering points.

However, Dhaka Metropolitan Police said there is no major threat in the capital. DMP officials stated that police are maintaining regular security duties and are fully prepared to handle any situation.

They added that checkpoints, patrols, and special operations continue across the city, and the situation is being closely monitored.
