Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Hamidur Rahman Azad has announced a continued movement to implement the opinion expressed by the people through a referendum. He claimed that the majority of people support constitutional reforms and that this mandate must be respected.
He made the remarks during a discussion meeting with district and city Shibir leaders in Faridpur on Wednesday.
He said the people voted in favor of building a functional and modern state system through constitutional reform, but political interference is allegedly obstructing the implementation of public opinion. He added that democratic movements will continue to ensure respect for the people’s verdict.
He further stated that a lack of honest and capable leadership has long created crises in governance and administration, emphasizing the need for ethical leadership.
Shibir members were urged to play a vital role in future leadership development despite criticism and propaganda against the organization.
