Maulana Mamunul Haque announces nationwide campaign to implement referendum verdict

Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Amir Maulana Mamunul Haque has announced that his party will conduct nationwide awareness and public outreach campaigns if necessary to implement public opinion expressed through a referendum.

He said his party will remain active in the field to mobilize public support even if other political parties do not strongly pursue the demand.

He made the statement while speaking as chief guest at a citizen rally held at the north courtyard of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Friday prayers in Dhaka. The rally was organized by the Paltan zone unit of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, demanding action against rising prices of fuel, gas and electricity, deteriorating law and order, and implementation of referendum results.

He stressed that the referendum verdict must be implemented properly to reflect public expectations and warned against delays or compromises.

He also raised questions about the “July Charter,” claiming that some issues were added at the final stage of signing without clear understanding among political parties and activists.

Party leaders also spoke at the event, expressing concern over inflation, energy prices, and overall national situation, and called for effective measures in public interest.
