At least five people have been killed in new Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources and local media reports.
The attack targeted a residential building in Gaza City early Saturday (June 20). The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that several members of the same family were killed in the Al-Thalathini Street area, including a father and his two daughters. The mother was critically injured and later died during treatment.
Al Jazeera journalist Tareq Abu Azzoum said no warning was issued before the strike, describing the situation as increasingly severe every day.
Earlier, five people were injured in an Israeli airstrike on a tent sheltering displaced civilians in Khan Younis.
Naval fire was also reported off the coast of southern Gaza, according to Wafa.
Health authorities say more than 1,007 people have been killed and 3,165 injured since the October ceasefire, while total deaths in Gaza since October 2023 have exceeded 73,000.
Humanitarian organizations warn that around 2.2 million people in Gaza are facing severe shortages of food, medicine, and shelter, with restricted aid entry worsening the crisis.
