DMP arrests 66 including 3 banned Awami League activists in citywide operations

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 66 people, including three leaders and activists of the banned Awami League and its affiliated organizations, in the last 24 hours.

According to a press release, 63 were arrested in special operations and seven by the Detective Branch (DB).

Three Awami League affiliates were arrested from Mohammadpur, Mirpur, and Banani.

Among those arrested, one was a mugging suspect, three for public disorder, 13 for robbery/dacoity/snatched cases, and 39 for drug-related involvement.

DB separately arrested seven more individuals.

DMP said operations will continue to ensure public safety and law and order.
