Police recovered the body of a young man, Farhad Talukdar (37), hanging in Madaripur’s Shibchar Upazila. His body was found on Friday morning in front of his house in the Talatola village of Kathalbaria Union.

Farhad Talukdar was the son of the late Shukkur Talukdar of Talatola village. Local and family sources said Farhad had a complicated personal life. He was married three times, but due to domestic disputes, none of his wives lived with him. He had also been addicted to drugs for a long time. Only his elderly mother lived at home, and Farhad visited occasionally.

According to relatives, he returned home on Thursday after nearly three months. It is believed that sometime between Thursday night at 11 PM and Friday morning, he hanged himself using a saree from a mango tree in his garden. Locals noticed the hanging body and informed the family. A relative called the national emergency service 999, and police from Shibchar Thana recovered the body.

Shibchar Thana Officer-in-Charge, Shafiqul Islam, stated that the police prepared an incident report at the scene. Autopsy preparations are underway to determine the exact cause of death, and legal proceedings are ongoing.
