At 6:00 AM on Wednesday (26 November), the Tetulia Weather Observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 13°C. Humidity at the same time was 97%, making the cold feel even more intense.
Over the past three days, temperature fluctuations have been notable. On Tuesday, Tetulia’s temperature dropped to 12.8°C, one of the lowest of the season. The previous day recorded 13.4°C. These readings indicate that winter is gradually settling in.
The Meteorological Department said that if sea conditions remain stable, the first cold wave of the season may hit in early December. Additionally, due to favorable conditions for low-pressure systems or potential cyclones, rainfall may occur in various districts, with rough seas expected along coastal areas. Fishermen have been advised to remain cautious.
Although a sharp drop in temperature is unlikely in the remaining days of November, real winter is expected in the north from the first week of December. Tetulia Weather Observatory meteorologist Jitendranath Roy said, “Winter is gradually coming. Temperatures will drop further at the beginning of December, and a cold wave is possible.”
