Fire at Garment Factory Warehouse in Kalurghat, Chattogram

According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence Agrabad Control Room, the fire was controlled within a few hours. Upon receiving the news, four units from Kalurghat and Chandgaon stations reached the scene and began firefighting operations.

Locals said that following recent fire incidents in Dhaka’s Korail slum, news of the Kalurghat fire caused concern among employees and nearby residents. However, prompt action helped prevent major damage.

Fire service officials said the source of the fire is not yet confirmed. The actual cause of the fire and the extent of the damage will be announced after investigation.

The factory management stated that the warehouse primarily stored raw materials and some finished garments. It is believed that a portion of these items were damaged in the fire.
