Russia has launched another large-scale missile and drone attack on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv. At least 10 people were killed and 46 others injured in the early Monday morning assault. Several residential buildings across the city were damaged, and authorities fear the death toll may rise as rescue operations continue.

Head of Kyiv’s military administration Timur Tkachenko said at least 15 buildings were damaged in the attack, including four residential buildings in the historic Podilskyi district. Emergency services are working continuously to rescue people trapped under the rubble.

The attack also affected areas surrounding Kyiv. According to local authorities, one more person was killed and at least 10 others were injured outside the capital.

Ukraine’s military said Russia launched 68 missiles and 351 drones overnight. Multiple explosions shook the capital, forcing thousands of residents to take shelter in metro stations and underground bunkers after air raid sirens were activated.

Just days earlier, Kyiv had suffered another major attack in which 31 people were killed, one of the deadliest strikes on the capital this year.

In a video message before the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia might launch further large-scale strikes ahead of an upcoming NATO summit in Turkey. He is also expected to meet U.S. President Donald Trump during the summit.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has continued its counterattacks. A Ukrainian strike near Sevastopol in Russian-controlled Crimea damaged energy infrastructure, causing temporary power outages, according to Moscow-appointed regional governor Mikhail Razvozhaev.

The Russia–Ukraine war, now more than four years long, has entered an increasingly complex phase, with both sides intensifying long-range missile and drone attacks, targeting not only battlefields but also major cities and critical infrastructure.
