An unidentified woman’s body was seen floating under the rail bridge near Chapulia Fawkle in Ward No. 24 of Gazipur City Corporation on Saturday morning around 10:30 AM. This is the latest incident in the increasing crime wave in Gazipur. Recently, brutal and violent crimes in various parts of the city have raised serious safety concerns among residents. These include the murder of a journalist at Gazipur Chourasta, the discovery of dismembered remains of an unidentified young man from Tongi’s Station Road, the burning death of a returnee expatriate’s wife in Sripur, and a youth’s death in a land dispute conflict.
Meanwhile, a local journalist was seriously injured and hospitalized after facing police obstruction while reporting on extortion by CNG auto-rickshaw drivers in Sahapara area.
Local residents and human rights activists have expressed deep concern about the security situation in Gazipur and urged the authorities to take prompt and effective measures.
Police have confirmed ongoing investigations into all incidents and are taking steps to bring the perpetrators to justice. However, if the security situation does not improve quickly, Gazipur will face significant challenges in controlling crime. Therefore, the administration, police, and social organizations need to work together to ensure the safety and peace of the public.
