Three drug traffickers arrested with 13,000 yaba pills in Lohagara, Chattogram

Police in Lohagara, Chattogram, conducted a raid and arrested three drug traffickers with 13,000 yaba pills. A passenger bus used for transporting the drugs was also seized.

The operation took place on Monday (October 20) at 1:00 PM in front of the Chunati Forest Range Office on the Chattogram–Cox’s Bazar highway, carried out by Lohagara Police Station.

The arrested individuals are: Jasim Uddin (33) from Ward No. 2, Jalia Palong Union, Ukhiya Upazila, Cox’s Bazar; Mohiuddin (30) from Jhilongja Union, Sadar Upazila; and Md. Karim (25) from the same area.

According to police sources, a bus traveling on the route was searched based on a tip-off. During the search, 13,000 yaba pills were recovered from a specially hidden compartment. The bus used for smuggling was confiscated.

OC of Lohagara Police Station, Md. Arifur Rahman, confirmed the incident, saying, “Based on a secret tip-off, we conducted a raid and arrested three drug traffickers. A huge quantity of yaba was seized from them. Our operations against drugs will continue.”

He further stated that cases will be filed against the three arrested individuals under the Narcotics Control Act and they will be sent to court.
