The situation related to suspected measles symptoms in the country has become more alarming. The Directorate General of Health Services reported that six more children have died with suspected measles symptoms in the last 24 hours.
However, no confirmed measles deaths were reported during the same period.
According to the DGHS, a total of 350 suspected measles-related deaths have been reported from March 15 to May 11. The number of suspected cases has reached nearly 50,500.
In the last 24 hours alone, 1,341 new suspected cases were reported. Among them, 118 cases were confirmed measles infections. The total confirmed cases since March 15 now stand at 6,937.
The report also states that 35,980 patients have been hospitalized with suspected measles, while 31,992 have recovered and been discharged.
Health experts warn that without proper vaccination and faster detection, the outbreak could worsen. Authorities have urged parents to ensure vaccination and follow health guidelines.
