24 Platoons of BGB Deployed in Savar-Ashulia, Gazipur and Narayanganj to Ensure Security in Industrial Areas

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has strengthened security in industrial areas following labour unrest over wage increases and various other demands. A total of 24 platoons of BGB personnel have been deployed in key locations across Savar-Ashulia, Gazipur and Narayanganj to ensure the safety of workers and the general public and maintain normal operations at industrial establishments.

BGB personnel were deployed in these areas on Wednesday (November 4). Of the total deployment, five platoons have been assigned to Hemayetpur, Ashulia and Baipail in Savar, 13 platoons to different areas of Gazipur, and six platoons to important locations in Narayanganj.

According to BGB sources, personnel have been deployed to maintain security in Gazipur's Chowrasta, Bhogra Bypass, Porabari, the Masterbari electricity area, Telipara, Safipur, Chandra and Kaliakair.

Meanwhile, six platoons of BGB personnel have been stationed at key locations in Narayanganj, including the Deputy Commissioner's Office, Chashara, Jhalakuri Bridge, the BSCIC Industrial Estate and Kanchpur Bridge.

BGB personnel are working in coordination with the local administration and other law enforcement agencies to maintain a peaceful environment in the industrial zones. Regular patrols are also being conducted to ensure a peaceful atmosphere for workers seeking to establish their legitimate demands, keep public movement uninterrupted and respond to any potential untoward incidents.

Amid continuing unrest over workers' demands for higher wages and other benefits, maintaining normal operations at industrial establishments and ensuring public safety have been given particular importance.

In this situation, BGB personnel are carrying out their responsibilities with professionalism, restraint and a strong sense of responsibility.

BGB said the primary objective of the deployment is to ensure the safety of workers, industrial establishments and the general public while maintaining peace and stability in the industrial areas.
