PNN News Desk | Dhaka:
Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, a member of BNP’s Standing Committee, has stated that the credit for the July uprising belongs entirely to the people. No political party can claim this achievement as their own. He remarked, “One party has taken advantage by selling the Liberation War, while another wants to capitalize on the events of the 24th.”
On Wednesday (September 3), at a seminar on the July uprising held at a hotel in Dhaka, he further commented that in countries where swift elections did not follow revolutions and time was spent in fulfilling demands, civil wars often erupted. He cautioned that political battles over the credit for the uprising could lead the country’s future into uncertainty.
Amir Khasru emphasized that failing to accept change would leave no party or individual’s future secure.
