Tarique Rahman said he has decided to return after staying abroad for 17–18 years. He requested that no one come to the airport to avoid disorder and potential damage to the country’s image.
He emphasized that the political change achieved through student and public movements is not the credit of a single political party but a collective achievement of people from all walks of life. He called on BNP leaders and activists to remain united and vigilant, highlighting ongoing conspiracies against Bangladesh.
Regarding the upcoming national election, Tarique Rahman stated that BNP will be able to form a government if it receives public support, and accountability and responsibility will be ensured once in power.
He also outlined BNP’s future plans, including modernizing education, providing accessible healthcare, creating employment opportunities, and supporting small and medium entrepreneurs. He expressed optimism that the public will benefit from these initiatives in a short period.
The discussion was chaired by Abul Kalam Azad, convener of BNP UK’s newly formed partial committee, and conducted by Secretary Khasruzzaman Khasru. Leaders and activists from various levels of BNP UK attended.
