Since taking charge as the new chairman after the restructuring of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), former national captain Tamim Iqbal has been introducing one initiative after another. After increasing the salaries of domestic cricketers, he has now announced a new plan to improve the experience of spectators in stadiums.

Recently, following a decision by the National Sports Council (NSC), the previous board of directors of the BCB was dissolved and an 11-member ad hoc committee led by Tamim Iqbal was formed. Since taking responsibility, the new committee has started working on various aspects of cricket.

In a video message released by the BCB, Tamim said that previously more focus was given to the problems of cricketers and officials, but there had been very little direct discussion about the experience of spectators. Yet, spectators are the most important part of cricket.

He stated that he wants to ensure a better environment for spectators who come to watch matches in stadiums. From entry at the gate, seating arrangements, to food and beverages, he aims to provide a comfortable overall experience.

For this purpose, Tamim is going to introduce a new initiative. He said that although it is not possible to talk to all spectators at once, he plans to personally sit with selected spectators present at the stadium and listen to their opinions and experiences.

Tamim also said that this activity is planned to begin from the upcoming home series against New Zealand. From the very first match, arrangements will be made for him to sit with spectators and hear their feedback.
