Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) in Sylhet has released the admission guidelines for the 2025–26 academic year for first-year undergraduate students. This year, 1,566 seats are allocated, with an additional 77 reserved seats under various quotas.
The university announced the details on Tuesday (December 2), stating:
A Unit: 985 seats
Ethnic Merit: 28
Disability Merit: 14
T-Labour Merit: 5
Sports Merit: 10
SUST Community Merit: 20
The admission test will be held in SUST, Sylhet, and other selected institutions in Sylhet city, with additional centers in Dhaka if seats are available. The Architecture (ARC) Department exam will only be held in Sylhet.
Eligibility:
Candidates must have passed HSC (General/Technical), Alim, Diploma-in-Commerce, or equivalent in 2024 or 2025.
Candidates must have passed SSC (General/Technical)/Dakhil or equivalent in 2022 or 2023.
Minimum GPA Requirements:
A Unit: Total GPA 6.5 with minimum 3.0 in SSC & HSC; at least GPA 3.0 in HSC Mathematics (C grade in A Level).
B Unit: Total GPA 6.0 with minimum 3.0 in SSC & HSC for Science, Humanities, and Commerce streams.
Diploma-in-Engineering candidates must have passed SSC in 2020 or 2021. GCE applicants require at least 2 ‘B’ grades in IGCSE (O Level) and pass in 5 subjects; in IAL (A Level), pass 3 subjects with at least 1 ‘B’ grade.
Exam Schedule:
A Unit: January 13, 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
B Unit: January 14, 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Application Fees:
A1 (Science) Unit: BDT 1,250
A2 (Architecture) Unit: BDT 1,400
B Unit: BDT 1,200
SUST urged students to submit applications on time and prepare for exams according to all rules and deadlines mentioned in the guidelines.
