This year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will begin nationwide on Thursday (July 2). The Ministry of Education has introduced multi-layered security measures, including CCTV installation at every exam center, to ensure a fair, transparent, and cheating-free environment.
Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon shared this information at a press conference held at the Ministry of Education on Wednesday (July 1).
He said that exams under nine general education boards, the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board, and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board will be conducted simultaneously, including HSC, Alim, HSC (BM/BMT), HSC (Vocational), and Diploma-in-Commerce exams.
A total of 12,705,583 candidates will participate this year. There will be 2,697 exam centers and 9,439 educational institutions involved.
All nine general boards will conduct exams using unified question papers. A central CCTV monitoring cell has been set up at the ministry level to monitor any exam center in real time.
Police officers assigned to exam centers will wear body-worn cameras to detect and prevent any irregularities. This is expected to help quickly identify incidents and take immediate action.
A total of 77 subjects will be examined over 21 working days. On non-exam days, regular academic activities will continue in institutions.
Some previously problematic venues have been canceled to prevent malpractice. However, special centers have been retained for students from remote areas such as haor regions, hill tracts, and char areas.
For Seventh-day Adventist candidates, exams scheduled on Saturdays will be conducted after sunset considering religious beliefs.
The ministry expects that strict monitoring, technology-based supervision, and coordinated law enforcement efforts will ensure a disciplined and transparent examination process.
