Strong winds likely in southern and southeastern regions, light rain in Dhaka

The Department of Meteorology has forecasted stormy winds accompanied by rain and thunderstorms today in the southern and southeastern parts of the country. This warning was issued in the forecast for inland river ports from 7 AM to 6 PM on Friday, August 8.

The forecast states that gusty or stormy winds blowing at 45-60 km/h from the south or southeast may occur over the regions of Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar. Along with this, there is a chance of rain or thunderstorms in these areas. Accordingly, these river ports have been advised to display warning signal number 1.

In the capital Dhaka and surrounding areas, the sky may remain partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy with the possibility of light rain. Winds are expected to blow from the south or southeast at a speed of 8-12 km/h. The daytime temperature may rise slightly.

At 6 AM today, the temperature in Dhaka was 27 degrees Celsius with 95% humidity. Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 31.6 degrees Celsius, and today’s minimum temperature is 26.9 degrees Celsius. A rainfall of 2 millimeters was recorded in the capital in the last 24 hours.
